Courtney Torres Consulting, Inc.

Courtney Torres (CT) Consulting, Inc., a certified woman-owned and small business, was founded in 2013 by Courtney Torres.

Courtney has an unparalleled understanding of Southern California's elected leaders, decision-makers and local communities.  It is this understanding, combined with her knowledge of how “inside politics" influences outcomes, that has led to her impressive record of success.

Courtney has unique relationships, based on a history of integrity and respect, with elected and civic leaders, as well as with key members of the media.  She is a valuable addition to any team wishing to achieve its goals and make a positive impact in Los Angeles.

As the principal at CT Consulting, Courtney's eighteen years of experience has equipped her to serve her clients with strategic advice,  build lasting relationships with key decision-makers, and impact public opinion through the use of earned media.  Her clients include companies interested in doing business within the City of Los Angeles, those wanting to expand their businesses and others working to improve their brand and public awareness through the use of media.  Courtney's clients include Lyft, BigBelly, Lamar Advertising, the California Association of Realtors, ADP and MapLAX (Los Angeles World Airports).

Before founding CT Consulting, Courtney was Vice President at Shallman Communications. During her time there, she successfully led a number of clients to victory. Courtney also played a key role in highly competitive political campaigns at the local, state and federal level; including Janice Hahn for Congress 2011 & 2012, Mike Bonin for City Council 2013 and Mike Feuer for City Attorney 2013.  She was also the head of Shallman’s Public Relations Division, overseeing large client accounts, including the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), where she helped to manage the impressive communications efforts for the ongoing $4 billion capital improvement project at the airport, known as LAneXt.

Courtney was formerly Chief of Staff to Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn, where she was responsible for staff and project management, as well as implementation of policy initiatives—including influencing a number of outcomes at LAX and the Port of Los Angeles. She oversaw all community outreach and media relations, and was responsible for successfully pitching and placing key stories with local, regional and national news outlets. She also contributed to the passage of several local ballot measures and managed local and statewide political campaigns.

Prior to working with the Councilwoman, Courtney worked in public relations and public affairs at Cerrell Associates, Inc.  She provided public affairs, community outreach and media relations for a variety of clients and public agencies.   Courtney was also actively involved in the 2000 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles, assuring her clients played significant roles and created lasting relationships.

A past member of Vice President Al Gore’s advance team, Courtney coordinated numerous vice presidential visits to Los Angeles and Sacramento—establishing unparalleled national, state and local government contacts, as well as statewide media relationships that have proven invaluable.

Courtney graduated summa cum laude from Pepperdine University with a bachelor degree in political science.  She completed her graduate work at Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management.

She currently serves on the board of the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative  (LANI) and lives in Sherman Oaks with her husband Eric and their children Lily and Jack.
